Dojang Etiquette

1. Students will bow to the flags before entering or leaving the training floor.
   
2. Students are not to enter the class late or leave early without the permission of the instructor.
   
3. Students will not wear shoes on the training floor.
   
4. Students are required to wear a dobuck on the training floor.  All jewelry MUST be removed when wearing the dobuck.  Male students are required to wear a protective groin cup.  Dobucks should be kept clean and treated with respect at all times.
   
5. Students are not to smoke, consume alcoholic beverages, soft drinks or food in the dojang, unless it is a social function held by the school.  Gum chewing is not allowed in the dojang.
   
6. The class will line up with the highest belts in the front and to the right.  You should remember your place in the order and line up quickly.
   
7. Students should stand at attention when addressing the instructor.  Students are expected to address the instructor as Sa-bum-nim, Sir/Mam or Mr./Mrs./Miss. and last name. Instructors should never be called by their first name in the dojang.
   
8. Students will turn away from the instructor or opponent when adjusting dobuck or belt.
   
9. Students will respect instructors and students of higher rank.  Often times, higher belts will be required to instruct you (even though they are not black belts).  When they are instructing you, you should give them the respect and attention you would to any instructor.
   
10. Students are encouraged to participate in class enthusiastically.  However, unnecessary conversation should be avoided.
    
11. Disagreements with instructors should only be brought up in private, outside of class.
    
12. Handshakes should always be exchanged after sparring and partner related activities. 

Dojang Rules

1. Students are not to hold any demonstrations or teach Tae-Kwon-Do without the approval of their instructor.
   
2. Students are not to engage in any activities that might degrade the code of Tae-Kwon-Do, the reputation of their school or instructor, or the reputation of the AKTA.
   
3. Students should have the approval of their instructor prior to participation in any tournament competition or promotional testing.
   
4. Students are not to participate in any activities held by a school or club not affiliated with the AKTA without approval from Grandmaster Choon Lee.
   
5. The use of profanity, obscene gestures or actions and unnecessary roughness towards a fellow student is prohibited and may result in suspension or termination of training.
